Sodium pentachlorophenolate (PCP-Na) is an organochlorine pesticide. It has been widely used in rice fields, ponds and rivers to remove snails and control schistosomiasis, as well as wood preservative and agricultural herbicide. It has a high water solubility, easy to use water as the carrier of widespread diffusion, pollution to water and soil, through the food chain stored in the animal body. Eating food with excessive pentachlorophenol can cause poisoning, causing damage to the central nervous system, liver, kidney and other organs. Mild symptoms range from nausea, dizziness and fatigue to high fever, coma and even death.
